The Story of Les Fifis

The remarkable Cancan troupe Les Fifis Farfelues is one of the longest to have danced in the UK. Since the troupe's formation, over fifty exotic beauties have passed through their ranks.

The brain child of the infamous Suzie Cruze, Les Fifis began their career at a horse traders far in the deepest rural Suffolk one night during the long, hot summer of 1977. Bursting onto a makeshift stage under the stars, surrounded by drunken gypsies and chemically altered hippies, they were an immediate sensation in their satin and lace, and they've never looked back.

Since their debut Les Fifis Farfelues have performed all over Europe, at parties, cabarets, weddings, festivals and carnivals, spicing up anything from a village fete to a chi-chi mayfair soiree. They regularly dance with Brit Ska Troupers Bad Manners.

Their dance is a thrilling, eye-popping, high energy spectacular, with high kicks and flying splits. The girls wear sumptuous satin dresses with black lace, white frilly petticoats, bloomers, stockings, black-laced boots and glorious ostrich feathers.

"We dance for fun, we love to dress up, and it's a wonderful experience to be part of a big flamboyant gang."
